As GM of the Division's Occupational Safety and Health Training Centre, Mr Ameerali was overall responsible for ensuring that proper training courses were developed and run for the industry workforce including managers, supervisors and workers. While at the Ministry, Mr Ameerali served as Chairman of the Staff Association of Labour Ministry (SALM) consecutively for 12 years from 1984 to 1996. He opted for early retirement at the age of 55 year and left government service on 1 May 2006. Upon leaving government service, Mr Ameerali founded Team-6 Safety Training and Consultancy Services (S) Pte Ltd. He is currently the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Team-6 Safety. Mr Ameerali is also the Hon. President of the National Safety Council of Singapore as well as an Honorary Member of the Asia Pacific Safety and Health Organisation (APOSHO). He was presented with a Book Award for his pioneering services in Occupational Safety and Health in 2006 by the Ministry of Manpower during the 50th Anniversary of Singapore's Independence.
